Tips For Painting Your Bathroom

Bathrooms may be the least favorite of all the spaces at home. But you would definitely want it to look clean and at least be a well-designed bathroom. It helps that you use the right paint and color to keep it clean, bright and fresh. Here are some painting tips that you can use for your bathroom:

Ventilation:

Any space needs ventilation and the same thing applies for bathroom. You need to have good air ventilation system to make sure that the paint is fresh and the paint does not get destroyed due to trapped air/humidity.

Using Gloss Paint:

When it comes to choosing the kind of paint you want in your bathroom, it is strongly recommended that you use gloss paint. The reason is that high-gloss paint is known for its durability and it can withstand humidity. Another option is to use a semi-gloss paint.

Good Lighting:

Aside from having the right paint, it is important to have good lighting as it can reveal the paint colors and make your walls look brighter and cleaner.

The Use of Specialized Paint:

If you like bathing and enjoying a steamy shower, it is better to use a specialized bathroom paint. Using this kind of paint is important as it is known to resist mold, mildew and can withstand humidity. If it is a second bathroom, you do not necessarily need any special paint.

Your bathroom still needs to be clean and fresh even if it is not the most important area in your home. But considering the specific function, you need to make sure that it does not look shabby. Using the right commercial painting that suits your design, taste and needs is definitely essential.

Hind site is 20-20 and logic should have warned us that a warm summer day and black doors are a combination you don’t want. They heated up in the sun and the centers sagged down (they were solid core, paint grade doors so the glue inside must have heated up and got soft).

I like you said that we need to have the right lighting. If I was going to paint my house I would want to know that I am able to get good, comfortable lighting. Maybe I should remember this for the next time I hire someone to paint my house.

I hadn’t thought about choosing special paint to use in my bathroom because of the steam. It makes sense that understanding this can help you make sure your investment lasts and provides the benefits you want. I can see how anyone looking into this would want to make sure they take the time to consult with a professional in order to find the best quality paint for the job.

Thanks for these painting tips. I didn’t know that it could be good to use gloss paint in the bathroom because it withstands humidity. That being said, I’m kind of interested to learn how much of this you should use and how to get an even coat of it across the surface.
